Deals of the week

Lately we have been intrigued with the extreme couponing & debt reducing shows.  While I'm trying to utilize coupons more, I'm always on the search for great clearance deals.  This week my co-worker alerted me to a sale on sweaters at K-Mart.  I was able to buy 5 sweaters and 1 shirt for just $1.99 each.  I also found a cute pair of grey shoes for $6.49.  SCORE!  :)

 

 

I also went shopping at Old Navy.  They were having an extra 30% off their clearance items.  I purchased 2 sweaters for  $6.25.  It's great that I'll have a new wardrobe next winter for only $25.

 

My Lack of Blogging...

So, I've had this blog for over a year now, but have been way too intimidated to start regularly writing.  I LOVE reading blogs, in fact, quite of bit of my tv time is spent perusing several blogs.  I guess I feel I won't be "good enough".  Time to just jump in!

My family of 5 currently lives in a 3 bedroom house. My 2 youngest sons are currently sharing a room.  This has led to lots of chaos and fighting.  Bedtime is a struggle, they will not stop talking, fighting, stepping on each other, etc.  We have to get a bigger house.  So our main goal for the next year is to save, save, save for a down payment, and if we have to bring money for closing on this house (dang economy!).  We also would like to continue to do a few improvements on this house to make it more appealing.

Our first project when we moved in 3 years ago was updating the kitchen cabinets.  I started with horrible dark laminate cabinets and dark burgundy walls.

We decided to add trim molding, prime, and paint the cabinets.

We also painted the walls an olive green.

Photography class

My assignment in photography class is to start a blog, but lo and behold i have my dear neglected blog already.  Here's some photos i've been working on in class....

I have been neglectful of blogging...mostly because I am intimidated. You see...I have a secret: I am not perfect. My house is often messy (not dirty, just messy from day to day life), I don't cook from scratch every meal, I don't home-school, I don't coupon, I'm not conscious of being green, I sometimes yell at my children, and the list goes on. While I love reading blogs, I get a sense of 'holier than thou' and feel I'm not good enough. Does anyone else feel that way?

What I do know is that I love my life, my children, my husband, and our home. I'm a mom, wife, woman doing the best I can. So maybe I'll just write about that, and maybe some of you out there will identify with me. :)
